Cycling along the Birmingham & Fazeley Canal
The countryside sections are easily cycled, but please note the following advice for urban areas.
- Farmers Bridge Junction to Minworth bottom lock (13.7km): Take care - there are many blind corners and bridges with low headroom. Take special care and ride slowly on lock flights, especially Farmers Bridge, which is heavily used by pedestrians and joggers. In busy periods, dismount at lock flights.
- Digbeth Branch (Ashted Locks) (3.2 km): Take care past the lock flight. Several bridges have very low headroom.
- Dismount through Ashted and Curzon Street tunnels.
You should download a cycling permit free of charge and affix it to your bike before setting out.
