Fishing along the Birmingham & Fazeley Canal

Improvements in water quality and bankside vegetation, combined with fish restocking, mean that much of the waterway is now teeming with roach, bream, carp, rudd, chub and some extremely big pike.

For the more experienced, many stretches of the canal are regular venues for match anglers. Contests take place on a regular basis, bringing fishermen from far and wide. Fishing rights are licensed to various clubs who each control their own section of water. Day permits are normally available on the bank to non-members. For further information contact British Waterways' Fisheries Manager on 01827 252000.
