Walking along the Bow Back Rivers
The Inland Waterways Association (IWA) and the Original London Walks organise regular guided towpath walks, open to all upon payment of a small fee. They take place twice a month on Sunday afternoons all the year round, and also twice a month on midweek evenings from May to August.
The IWA also has several recommended walking routes around the Bow Back Rivers, depending on your level of fitness or desired length of journey. They include a visit to Three Mills, the largest of which (House Mill) is being restored and is open to the public on Sundays.
The Ramblers Association's Lea Valley Walk, from Walthamstow to the Thames, crosses the Bow Back Rivers at St Thomas' Creek.
