Boating along the Bridgwater & Taunton Canal

The locks and swing-bridges on the Bridgwater & Taunton Canal are of unusual designs not found elsewhere in the country. But since the canal is completely isolated from the waterway network, this is unlikely to puzzle too many people!

Most of the canal's resident boats are clustered in locations such as the Somerset Navigators Boat Club moorings. Two slipways in Bridgwater provide an opportunity for owners of trailable boats to launch their craft into the canal.
