Wildlife along the Calder & Hebble Navigation

Moorhens, ducks and some aggressively territorial mute swans glide along the waters of the C&HN. Swallows, thrushes and tits nest in the trees along the verges. Aquatic plants like lilies and varied species of moss find fertile ground on the canal's water and banks.
