Towpath has been closed

Towpath closure and partial restriction of the canal from Bridge No. 8 on Lichfield Street to Ivy House Bridge (Bridge No. 11) in Northwood, Stoke on Trent due to towpath improvement scheme and reconstruction of towpath washwall.

The towpath will be closed from 26 June 2008 to the 30 September 2008. Maps of the local area will be displayed at the points of towpath closure to facilitate users to choose an alternative route. There will be restrictions on the canal due to the presence of work boats throughout the period of the works, the canal will not be closed at any time. However, boaters may experience some delays when travelling through the works. Banksmen will be present at all times to ensure the proper passage of boaters is facilitated.
