Carsington Water
Carsington Water was opened to the public in May 1992 by Her Majesty the Queen. a 741-acre reservoir, it's popular for watersports, wildlife watching and the events on offer at the Visitor Centre.
The Visitor Centre has excellent exhibitions, plenty of information, a shop, education centre and cafe. Be amazed at how you can move a 1 tonne ball of granite with the touch of your hand!
It's owned and operated by Severn Trent Water to store and replenish water to and from the River Derwent.
