The varying habitats here support many species of flora and fauna. Heather is in abundance, particularly ling, bell and the cross-leaved varieties. The grasslands are home to beautiful wild flowers and butterflies, and the songbirds love the hawthorn and willow carr.

In terms of birdlife near or on the water, the less common wagtails and great crested grebes can be seen, as well as Canada geese, mute swans and plenty of mallards. Animals to be found in the Park are foxes, red deer, rabbits and perhaps even a common lizard.
