Restriction – Operating the Flood Gates
The Environment Agency will be carrying out training operations on the Flood Gates situated at West Stockwith. This will be once every three months over the next five years.
Short delays are envisaged, however this will be only a few minutes while the gates are being operated during the training.
Boaters are requested to follow the advice of staff on site and take care when passing through the site. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this operation.

Advice: Stret lock

UPDATE (15 August 2011): We would like to advise boaters that following correspondence from several users, we have re-measured Stret Lock. We have determined that at a draught of 2’6”; the maximum available width through Stret Lock is 6’10”.
We aim to carry out works to increase the available width in the future.
We apologise for any inconvenience this causes.

Restriction: Lock 32, Turnerwood Browns to Lock 33, Turnerwood Double Bottom (Top) to Lock 36, Turnerwood Top Lock

As part of some leak sealing work just upstream of Lock 33, Turnerwood Double Bottom (Top). A partial dewater is required to carry out some lock approach re-pointing work.
In conjunction with this, there will be some disturbance on the towpath as a mini digger will have to dig down to install a clay curtain behind the washwall.
British Waterways apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.
Please expect delays of up to 1 hour maximum.
Please note this dewater may not be required dependant on the success of the towpath sealing work carried out at the same time.

Stoppage: Turnerwood - Embankment Works

UPDATE (03 February 2012): Due to unforeseen circumstances, this stoppage will now be on-going longer than originally was planned.
