Wildlife along the Chichester Canal
Many wild flowers can be found along the canal including the willowherb, yellow flag, meadowsweet and speedwell. Also thriving are the less common water plantain, the lesser water parsnip and dock. The canal has many visitors of the feathered variety, including herons, kingfishers, common sandpipers, reed warblers, spotted flycatchers, whitethroat and woodpecker. Swans, moorhens, mallards and coots are quite common.
