Boating along the Cromford Canal

Great Northern Basin marks the start of the Cromford Canal, which continued the line into the Derbyshire Dales. Though the Cromford is not currently navigable, the basin itself is thriving. Another canal, the Nottingham Canal, once joined here, following a roughly parallel course to the Erewash before heading into the centre of Nottingham - where it is still navigable as part of the Trent through-route.
