Derwent Reservoir (Durham)
The 1000-acre, three-mile long reservoir lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the North Pennines. The boundary between Northumberland from Durham runs right through the middle of the lake.
The reservoir is particularly popular for sailing and angling. Access and facilities for sailing at the lake are only available through the Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club. Tel. 01434 675258 for details.
It's also a great place for walking, cycling and for picnics.
