Cycle along the towpath of the Dudley No.1 Canal in Dudley

Cycling is permitted along the length of the Dudley No. 1 Canal. Do not speed as the path steepens down past the locks. Extra care must be taken as the stretch is very popular with joggers and walkers.

To cycle along the towpath, you will need a British Waterways cycling permit which you can download, free of charge.

Towpath Closure only: Round Oak Bridge and Woodside Bridge

The towpath will be closed between Round Oak Bridge (Waterfront Way) and Woodside Bridge (Pedmore Road) from the 6th February to the 30th March 2012 to enable the towpath to be resurfaced between the two bridges.

An alternative route for pedestrians and cyclists is available along local highway footpaths, where access can be made on to and off the towpath at either end of the works.
