Restriction: Black Bridge, Ilkeston

Contractors working for Derbyshire County Council have applied for and been granted an extension to the canal restriction at the above location (original notice EMN2006-041) as of the dates specified above.

The works will restrict the navigation width to a maximum of 4.3metres. Traffic lights to accommodate a temporary bridge crossing will also be in place.

The site is signed on the approaches and temporary moorings available.Boaters are requested to take care on approach to the location.

Towpath has been closed

The towpath will be closed for 15 days whilst canal bank improvement works are carried out.
Diversions will be in place and signed on-site.

Restriction: Black Bridge, Ilkeston

Contractors working for Derbyshire County Council will be carrying out underwater cutting works to facilitate the removal of the temporary sheet piling and sealing of the canal bed. During this period, the temporary bridge adjacent to the new bridge will be removed from site.

During the works boats will be able to pass with care, however a set of traffic lights will be on both approaches, manned by banks men at all times to ensure that the divers are clear before boats pass.

Boaters are requested to approach the site with care and obey any instructions given. BW apologises for any inconvenience caused by this operation.
