Esthwaite Water

Get away from the madding crowd and unwind by Esthwaite Water.

Flanked by two of Cumbria’s most popular destinations - Windermere and Coniston Water – Esthwaite Water is surprisingly untroubled by visitors, despite the fact that beautiful Hawkshead village sits at its tip. This makes Esthwaite Water a haven for wildlife; the lake positively teems with fish and water lilies cover the surface in the summer months.

Walkers can follow a meandering footpath around the water and enjoy spectacular views of the rolling fells.
