Cycling along the Grand Union Canal Leicester Line

The following lengths of towing path are open to cyclists. Please cycle with great care and courtesy to others, observing the Waterways Code for Cyclists. You must display a valid British Waterways cycling permit on your cycle at all times which you can download free of charge.

• Foxton (Bridge 63) to Debdale Wharf (Bridge 65) (1.7 km): Take extra care - towpath is well surfaced but narrow.
• Blue Banks (Bridge 102) to West Bridge, Leicester (8.3 km): Take extra care - do not speed.
• Market Harborough Arm (6.8km): Full length from Market Harborough Basin to Foxton. Dismount when going under bridges.

Cycling routes

Unfortunately we don’t currently have any information on cycling routes along the Grand Union Canal Leicester Line.
