Fishing along the Grantham Canal

The Canal holds stocks of coarse fish including roach, perch, carp and tench. Sections are licenced to local angling clubs and associations as follows:

  • Lady Bay Bridge (No 2) to Hollygate Lane Bridge (No 15) (5.25 miles): Nottingham Anglers Association. Call David Turner on 0115 919 9500.
  • Wild's Bridge (No 26) to Irish Jack's Bridge (No 27): Parkside Angling Club. Contact the Secretary on 0115 978 7350.
  • Barkestone New Bridge (No 51) to Redmile Mill Bridge (No 53): Barnstone Angling Club. Contact the Secretary on 01949 861325.
  • Redmile Mill Bridge (No 53) to Redmile Bridge (No 54): Ropsley Angling Club. Contact Chris Robinson, 29 School Lane, Ropsley, Grantham (Tel: 01476 585579).
  • Redmile Bridge (No 54) to Woolsthorpe Top Lock: Bottesford Angling Association. Contact Mr M Calcraft, 18 Beckinsale Drive, Bottesford (Tel: 01949 842776).
  • Woolsthorpe Top Lock to Earlesfield Lane Bridge, Grantham: Fishing owned by Grantham Angling Association.
