Grasmere

'The most loveliest spot that man hath found.'

This is how Wordsworth described this lake which he and his wife regularly visited. He is buried here, in the churchyard at St. Oswald's Church.

Grasmere is a mile long, half a mile wide and 75ft deep. Owned by the National Trust, it's a popular location for boating and canoeing.
