Hertford Union Canal

The Hertford Union Canal runs for a short but important 1.3 miles, connecting the Grand Union Canal with the Lee Navigation - thus avoiding tidal waters and the long haul around the Isle of Dogs on the River Thames.

This very short, arrow-straight canal is also known as Duckett's Cut after Sir George Duckett who financed its construction.
