Hollingworth Reservoir
Hollingworth Lake is now part of a country park in the beautiful South Pennine area. There are all kinds of outdoor activities available in, on and around its 118 acres. Otherwise known as the 'Weighvers Seaport', it was built in 1854 to supply water to the Rochdale Canal.
As well as all the activities on offer, there are restaurants, shops and a nature reserve here. The Visitor Centre is excellent and has permanent and temporary exhibitions, regular events, a cafe with toilets and is accessible to disabled people.
