Kielder Water
Tucked away at the top of Northumberland, close to the Scottish Border and Hadrian's Wall, and with a 27-mile shoreline, beautiful Kielder Water is the largest man-made lake in Europe (capacity). It sits within the Kielder Forest - Britain's largest - which is home to many native species.
Kielder Water is now enhanced by offering plenty of activities in which you can participate, like fishing, watersports, cruises, birdwatching, walking, cycling and horse riding. Works of art, like James Turrell's "Skyspace", are increasingly making an appearance here too.
