Booking Details: Millness Slipway

Associated Regional Office: BW North-West

Please note, we require 24 hours notice for weekday bookings and 48 hours notice for weekend bookings. Contact the office for further information.

Millness Slipway

The slipway is available Monday to Sunday 8.30am to 4.00pm. A lockable bollard is in place on the slipway which is locked using a BW key, all customers must lock the bollard after use.

All customers must provide a marshall to oversee safe access to the site from the road, all marshalls must wear a high visibility vest or jacket. Use of the slipway will not be allowed without a nominated marshall.

Whilst reversing the trailer the marshall must guide the driver to the slipway and ensure safety guidance is provided. Once the craft is in the water we request that it is moored up and secured to the pontoon to provide safe access/disembarkment.

We can only allow one craft & trailer on site at any one time for health & safety reasons. Unfortunately we cannot allow any vehicles to remain on site to allow access for other bookings and would ask that these are relocated to alternative parking.

Access is required at all times to the site and therefore customers must not obstruct access to the slipway or entrance to the site.

Book in advance by contacting: Customer Services at Wigan Monday to Friday between: 08:30am – 4:00pm Tel: 01942 405700

Restriction: Aldcliffe Road Service Station, Lancaster

Associated Regional Office: BW North-West

Coping stones have fallen into the canal next to Aldcliffe Road service station on the offside. This is causing an obstruction to navigation and a restriction on the offside footpath. A BW workboat has been moored over the obstruction in the navigation as a temporary measure and fencing has been erected on the footpath. British Waterways apologises for any inconvenience that this may cause. BW would advise customers to take extra care when mooring to use the service station facilities while this restriction is in place.

The towpath is also restricted
