Walking along the Lancaster Canal

The canal is popular both as a walking route in its own right and as a base for exploring the historic city of Lancaster. At many places there are links to public rights of way, making circular walks.

Local societies organise a number of guided walks, with themes from heritage or environmental to general interest and family days out. Call the British Waterways office in Lancaster on 01524 751888 for details and bookings.
