Walkers, fishermen, bird-watchers, cyclists and boaters all enjoy the wide variety of wildlife along this rural corridor, including kingfishers, herons and deer. Near Carnforth, the canal runs very close to the Irish Sea, and a variety of sea-birds may be seen.
