Walking along the Limehouse Cut

Even the most reluctant of walkers can say they've walked a whole canal by exploring the 1.75 miles of the Limehouse Cut.

The Limehouse Cut is connected to the Lee Navigation and its walks, and the Waterway Discovery Time Travellers walk has a circular route which uses these and neighbouring waterways. The Grand Union Canal Walk and Thames Path both connect with the Limehouse Cut at the basin.

London Walking Route 1 starts at Limehouse Basin, heading for the Houses of Parliament. It mainly follows the Thames Path, so is well signposted. The walk is approximately 5 miles long.

Original London Walks and the Inland Waterways Association jointly organise guided walks along this waterway and many others around London.
