Wildlife along the Limehouse Cut
Despite the busy urban setting of London, this stretch of waterway still has its fair share of wildlife.
Life exists on the waters in the form of plants, sponges, pondweed and in terms of waterfowl, with moorhens and ducks regularly scouting the territory. Of particular note in this area is the abundance of birdlife - like the swallows, thrushes and tits that nest in the trees and verges. There are many initiatives to improve the wildlife habitats and the water quality to enable more and more species to thrive here.
