Lydney Canal & Harbour

This one-mile canal runs from Lydney Harbour on the River Severn to Lydney railway station, on the edge of the . It is now being restored to create an attractive marina and harbour area for sea-going yachts and motor boats.

This short waterway, which was built to carry Forest of Dean coal, was still in use carrying freight right up until the 1980s. The harbour and canal fell into dereliction with the end of commercial traffic, but are now being restored for pleasure boating.
