Neath Canal
The Neath Canal is generally spoken of together with the Tennant Canal – although the two waterways were never merged or managed as one.
Unlike most isolated Welsh canals though, the Neath and Tennant Canals do meet at Aberdulais, near the still impressive Aberdulais Aqueduct. The Neath Canal was built first, nearly 30 years ahead of its partner. In fact, the Neath Canal was only the second significant waterway to be constructed in south Wales (the first being the Glamorganshire Canal). Like all the best projects, the Neath Canal was decided upon after a meeting in the pub – namely the Ship & Castle at Neath.
The Neath Canal flows through an exceptionally beautiful landscape. Though only two miles of canal are currently open, this stretch is well looked after and seats are provided so that visitors can relax and enjoy the view.

Camlas Castell-nedd
Cysylltir Camlas Castell-nedd â Chamlas Tennant fel arfer, er na chafodd y ddwy ddyfrffordd eu huno na’u rheoli fel un erioed.
Fodd bynnag, yn wahanol i’r rhan fwyaf o gamlesi anghysbell yng Nghymru, mae Camlas Castell-nedd a Chamlas Tennant yn cyfarfod yn Aberdulais, ger Pont Dd?r drawiadol Aberdulais. Adeiladwyd Camlas Castell-nedd yn gyntaf, bron i 30 mlynedd cyn Camlas Tennant. Camlas Castell-nedd oedd yr ail ddyfrffordd fawr i gael ei hadeiladu yn y de (Camlas Sir Forgannwg oedd y gyntaf). Fel pob prosiect da, cytunwyd i adeiladu Camlas Castell-nedd yn dilyn cyfarfod mewn tafarn - sef y Ship & Castle yng Nghastell-nedd.
Mae Camlas Castell-nedd yn llifo trwy dirwedd eithriadol o hardd. Er mai dim ond dwy filltir o’r gamlas sydd ar agor ar hyn o bryd, mae’r darn hwn yn cael ei gadw mewn cyflwr da iawn ac mae ymwelwyr yn gallu ymlacio a mwynhau’r olygfa wrth eistedd ar y meinciau pwrpasol.
