    Restriction required to facilitate installation of temporary bridge for access to works site for United Utilities water quality improvement scheme.

    Please ensure your craft will fit under bridge of height of 6'4" prior to proceeding to navigate this section - THIS TEMPORARY BRIDGE WILL BE LOWER THAN SURROUNDING BRIDGES.

    THIS RESTRICTION WILL LAST FOR 25 WEEKS

  2. Towpath Closure only: PEAK FOREST CANAL BETWEEN BRIDGE A AND BRIDGE 1

    The towpath will be closed for a duration of 18 weeks to facilitate United Utilities water quality improvement project.

  4. Restriction: Marple aqueduct

    Vegetation clearance works at the aqueduct are required to be undertaken which are a first phase as part of the major works funded scheme to repair missing/ spalled sections of masonry on the scheduled ancient monument. The vegetation works will require roped access to remove all Ivy from the aqueduct walls and to remove all self set trees/saplings. The vegetation clearance works are expected to take one week.
    Access to both faces of the aqueduct via ropes will be required which will run across the navigation channel and towpath restricting un-impeded passage through the site.
    Navigation and towpath restriction between 8.00am and 4.30pm for up to 1hr.
