Cycling along the Pocklington Canal

You will need a British Waterways cycling permit (which you can download for free), and cycling is only permitted for the 1.5 miles from Coates Lock to Canal Head. The towpath is a little narrow so cyclists are asked to take extra care when cycling there. Please give way to walkers and anglers on the path, dismounting where necessary.

The countryside around the canal is perfect for cyclists, along quiet country lanes and through neighbouring villages of much beauty and interest.
