Cycling along the River Avon (Stratford)
Cycling is not generally permitted on the riverside footpaths. However, the gentle Avon valley has many quiet country roads which are ideal for a leisurely cycle ride. A pleasant circuit may be had by cycling from Evesham railway station to Tewkesbury, and hence to the nearby station of Ashchurch, where a train will take you back to your start point (change at Worcester). The Fleet Inn, at Twyning near Tewkesbury, makes a good lunch stop for the hungry cyclist.
