The Axe flows into the sea just south of Weston-super-Mare.

Once a Roman transport route, the River Axe runs through moorland and Somerset’s tidal flood plains into the Bristol Channel. It is popular with anglers and bird watchers, and canoeing is also possible (with permission from riparian owners).
