Cycling along the River Cam

Cambridge and the Cam valley offer a multitude of cycling routes, through picturesque villages, along the River, along minor roads and in the city of Cambridge itself. The flat scenery usually makes for easy cycling, but beware - this means that cycling can be particularly arduous in windy conditions.

Cambridge is earmarked as the crossroads of two National Cycle Network routes under development - Route 51, from Oxford to Felixstowe, and Route 11, from Stansted to King's Lynn. When completed, Route 11 will parallel the rivers Cam and Great Ouse, continuing north to Ely, Downham Market and King's Lynn.
