River Carron
Once a premier fishing river, stocks of salmon and trout are recovering in the River Carron – and the winding watercourse is a favourite with canoeists as well.
Flowing for 16 miles through lush west Highland scenery into the Forth at Grangemouth, the River Carron is best known by anglers. However, the untamed landscape has a beauty which would be appreciated by many walkers – and is within easy reach of Inverness – so locals can explore (suitably attired) at their leisure.
