River Chet

A shallow tributary of the River Yare, the 3.5 miles of navigable River Chet is worth the detour to explore the quaint market town of Loddon with its various boat hire bases, tourist facilities and attractions.

The Chet enters the Yare between Cantley and Reedham. Hardley Cross, by the river junction, has been the boundary between the City of Norwich and the Borough of Yarmouth - historic rivals for trade and prosperity - since at least 1556.
