Boating along the River Chet
One of the Broads' quieter rivers, the Chet offers delightful cruising over its 3.5-mile length. As you leave the Yare and head towards Loddon, open spaces slowly give way to a narrower channel with attractive, wooded riverbanks.
The river has narrow sections with tight bends, and boaters must not obstruct the river by mooring in such areas. Deep-draughted boats should have no trouble at high water but may not be able to navigate the river at low tide. Moorings are available in Loddon, where there are also numerous hire-bases.
