Fishing along the River Don

Its days as a leading salmon fishery may be over, but for keen anglers, the Don still has a lot to offer. Trout and grayling can be caught in the quiet, upper reaches which flow through the Peak District National Park. These fish are small and easily spooked, perhaps better suited for anglers who like the challenge of small rivers and creeks.

The trout season runs from 25th March to 30th September
The grayling season runs from the end of September until the end of December
