Wildlife along the River Dove
The River Dove is surrounded by verdant valleys, filled with wildflowers and birdsong. Picturesque Dovedale is home to a type of ash woodland which is of national importance due to its rarity.
Wildlife lovers will be pleased to note that over the last couple of years otters have been making a gradual return to Derbyshire and the River Dove.
After a gap of 70 years, salmon can also now be seen jumping wiers on the River Dove as they make their way to spawning grounds upstream.
