Walking along the River Humber
The Viking way, a 147 mile walk starts at the Humber Bridge and heads westwards.It provides good access to nature reserves and climbs a chalk ridge at South Ferriby to provide stunning views of the Estuary.The Symbol of the Viking helmet marks the route.
A shorter option, at 6 miles, is the Barton to New Holland walk. This circular path starts from the Point ( the Humber Bridge viewing area) along the river to New Holland, with spectacular views to be seen across the estuary.
