Walking along the River Ivel

For such a little-known river, the Ivel has great walking along its banks.

The Kingfisher Way follows the river all the way from its source in Baldock to the River Great Ouse at Tempsford. The route is chronicled in four attractive walk leaflets, available from the Ivel & Ouse Countryside Project or local Tourist Information Centres.

The Navigator's Way runs along the route of the branch canal, from the Ivel to the pleasant little town of Shefford. Again, a leaflet is available.

The Countryside Project also publishes leaflets detailing circular walks in the area.
