Cycling along the River Kelvin
The Kelvin Cycleway follows the river through Glasgow, linking two long-distance cycle routes - the West Highland Way and the Glasgow-Loch Lomond route. In addition, you can carry your bike up a gentle set of steps beside the Kelvin Aqueduct, Maryhill, to gain access to the Forth & Clyde Canal.
The route is excellently surfaced and largely level. There are some road crossings where you are recommended to wheel your bike across.
Recent works have seen dedicated bridges for cyclists and walkers installed
