Walking along the River Lee
The towpaths of the River Lee and Stort provide continuous, traffic free route through rural countryside, rich industrial and urban green space. There are many circular walks linking the towpath and surrounding countryside, usually signposted with distinctive waymarkers.
Many popular paths have been waymarked and improved as part of the Lee Valley Park. From flat surfaced waymarked paths, to grass country tracks, the Park has a variety of walking opportunities for all abilities. The Lee also links to the Grand Union Canal, the Hertford Union and the Limehouse Cut via its network of towpaths.
