Cycling along the River Medway

There are no designated cycling routes along the whole stretch of the Medway, although National Cycle Routes 1 and 17 both have sections along the river. People also 'unofficially' cycle along the footpath from Allington through Maidstone to Tovil area.

Remember that it's the walkers who have priority, so please be prepared to slow down or even dismount to let them pass.

There are plenty of local cycle routes nearby too. Cycle maps can be downloaded from the Medway Council website.
