Cycling along the River Mersey

A new proposal is currently being put forward by the Mersey Crossing Group to relieve the current Silver Jubilee Bridge congestion and in turn to improve facilities for cyclists and pedestrians wishing to cross the river. It will also act as a link to existing cycling and pedestrian facilities, as well as public transport.

The nearby Middlewood Way caters for cyclists, walkers, horseriders and birdwatchers alike. Excellent for all the family, there are picnic sites along along the bike trail and you can also hire bikes from Grimshaw Lane, Bollington.
