Wildlife along the River Nene
An abundance of wildlife is found along the riverbanks, including birds such as moorhen, mallards, swans, grebes and herons. The river at Wellingborough is a haven for swans.
Near Titchmarsh is a Nature Reserve, famous for its heronry and other birds which flock to it each year. There is a National Dragonfly Museum at Ashton.
Along the River Nene is Nene Park which contains a number of woods, lakes and fields which are home to all kinds of wildlife, and particularly notable for birds and badgers. It is also a centre for watersports enthusiasts, anglers, cyclists and golfers.
