Fishing along the River Stour (Suffolk)

Fishing is popular along the river and there are many angling clubs who offer day tickets for angling, such as at Dawes Weir, Cattawade Bridge and Sudbury Angling Club.

Anyone aged 12 years or over who fishes for salmon, trout, freshwater fish or eels must have a valid rod licence (obtainable from post offices). This is in addition to a permit, required to fish a particular stretch of water, available from Sudbury Angling Centre, Acton Square, Sudbury C010 1HG (tel: 01787 312118).

Unfortunately we don’t currently have any information on fishing and fisheries.

If you know of any, please tell us by emailing feedback@waterscape.com. We’re always happy to add information to waterscape.com.
