Cycling along the River Tamar

Quiet country lanes, panoramic views and the promise of a revitalising cream tea around every corner, cyclists love the Tamar Valley. However, it is important to remember that to enjoy the views, one must first climb those lovely rolling hills! Although there are no fully off road routes in the area, a number of road-based routes offer a scenic, peaceful and enjoyable day out for all the family.

West Devon Cycle Routes include:

- Bere Peninsula Cycle Route – 9 mile circular route
- Middle Tamar Cycle Route – 23 mile circuar route (shorter option of 14 miles starting from Launceston)
- Lopwell Dam Cycle Link – 4.5 mile route

The National Cycle Route No. 27, Devon Coast to Coast, also passes by the Tamar Valley.
