Fishing along the River Tamar

The rugged Tamar valley is an anglers' haven with good catches of salmon and trout available. Coarse fish such as eels are also caught here, and anglers eager for a challenge may like to try fishing for one of the massive conger eels which lurk within the deep, swift waters.

Open seasons are as follows:

Salmon: 1st March to 14th October
Migratory trout: 3rd March to 30th September
Brown trout: 15th March to 30th September
Rainbow trout: 15th March to 30th September
