From the Forest Fawr region of the Brecon Beacons downriver to Swansea, the Tawe has both rural isolation and urban pride along its banks.

Swansea's river is now easier to navigate than at any point in history thanks to the construction of a new tidal barrage. An impressive marina provides a centre for coastal craft. Cyclists can follow the river route on National Cycle Network route 43.

Excellent canoeing is available in the rivers' upper reaches, through the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Yr Afon Tawe

O ardal Fforest Fawr ym Mannau Brycheiniog i lawr yr afon i Abertawe, mae’r Tawe yn llifo trwy ardaloedd gwledig a threfol.

Mae afon Abertawe yn haws ei mordwyo nag erioed o’r blaen diolch i’r morglawdd llanw newydd. Mae’r marina trawiadol yn darparu canolfan ar gyfer cychod yr arfordir. Gall beicwyr ddilyn yr afon ar lwybr 43 y Rhwydwaith Beicio Cenedlaethol.

Mae blaenau’r afon yn llifo trwy Barc Cenedlaethol Bannau Brycheiniog, gan gynnig lleoliad perffaith i gan?io.
