History of the River Teifi
The Teifi has provided food and a way of life for local people thoughout the ages. Net fishing from traditional 'Teifi coracles' helped sustain riverside communities from the 19th Century, when the small boats were constructed using local willow and hazel. In 1861 there were 300 such coracles fishing on the River Teifi; today this number has dwindled to a mere handful.

Hanes yr Afon Teifi
Mae’r Teifi wedi darparu bwyd a ffordd o fyw i bobl leol ar hyd yr oesoedd. Roedd pysgota â rhwydi o gwryglau traddodiadol y Teifi yn fodd o helpu i gynnal cymunedau ar lan yr afon o’r bedwaredd ganrif ar bymtheg ymlaen. Câi’r cychod bach hyn eu hadeiladu o goed helyg a chyll lleol. Ym 1861 roedd 300 o gwryglau pysgota o’r fath ar yr Afon Teifi; erbyn heddiw mae’r nifer wedi disgyn i lond llaw yn unig.
